RNDMs Yahoo Group Formerly e-group

Dear Sisters,

This is to inform you of an e-mail list for Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions. It is our hope that through this means, we can have "conversations" with one another across the globe. The list has been set up through a distribution service called "Yahoogroups". You need to "subscribe" to it, which means you have to register. There is no charge for this service.
To subscribe, send an e-mail message to:  RNDM-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

OR
If you are able to access the world wide web, you can click on the following URL:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RNDM

Then, just follow the instructions there.

If you are new to Yahoogroups, you will probably need to register twice - once with Yahoogroups, (and you will get a "yahoo identification") and then another registration for the RNDM distribution list. Apart from that, the procedure is fairly straight forward. In either case, you just follow the instructions on the web page, or through the e-mails. If you have any difficulties with this process, please send me a message, and I will try to help you.

Everyone who is "subscribed" to this RNDM list can receive and send messages to everyone else on it. In other words, whatever message I send to the RNDM list is automatically distributed to all the other RNDMs who are registered there. The big thing is, we need to register - so please do that right away. So, something like a conversation is possible.

This list is restricted to RNDMs, and is not listed in the Yahoogroups directory - so it becomes a private "space" where we can exchange ideas, plans, dreams etc. with one another. The liveliness of our conversations will depend on us - and there are many things we have to talk about. For example, preparations for the next chapter gathering, apostolic initiatives, ideas for the future, and so on, - as well as simply introducing ourselves to one another, and learning a bit about one another's lives. As the Advent 1999 letter from the General Leadership put it: "We want you to walk ... and begin telling your story"

I feel excited about the possibilities of this list for our global RNDM community. While there are many RNDM houses that do not have computers, "Internet Cafes" have sprung up around the globe, public and university libraries are making their computers available, and some public community centers and church centers also have computers available.

So, we are walking this internet journey, aware that some of us have more easy access to computers and e-mail than others of us. This is but a beginning. It is a beginning that holds promise as a way for us to connect with one another around the globe, and learn new ways of being "sister" to one another.
